Lights ‘n’ Idols!!!

Bhagwan ke Ghar, Der hai Andher nahin (There is no Darkness but light where the lord resides)….

We as Indians literally believe in the above statement don’t we???

Our rich tradition which dates back hundreds to thousands of years is but a proof to our beliefs and tradition.

This post is not about religion, it is not about beliefs. It is purely a representation of culture and tradition. The below pictures were taken in my home under very natural, day-to-day circumstances.

It so happened that my sister-in-law got a beautiful Idol of Lord Ganesha as a gift which was strategically placed on a little podium in the Puja Room of our home. One fine evening, she as usual lit up the lamps and offered her prayers.

Well that was the time it seems Lightning struck her, and in an instant she was in my room asking me to take pictures of the lamp and the idol. Well, from my previous posts you would know by now that she is the darling of the house, so her request was more than enough to make me pick up my Camera and go Click Click….

And well the results are here for you to decide…

Let us start off with the Lamps.

Well not a typical start, cuz this time I chose to take an angular shot of the Lamps.

To give an idea of the arrangement of the lamps, here goes another pulling a little behind more…

Well to Break the line of Lamps let us try to introduce the idols in. Shall we??

The lighting is purely natural, by that I mean the lighting for the idols was nothing but the brightness from the lamps.

Well, just for a close up let’s try to get a closer view of the beautiful face.

To finish off again going back to the lamps again…. And then it willbe Adios from me for now.

Well as we all head into the celebrations of Christmas and welcome the entrance of the New Year.
